These matching doors are early, dating from the 17th-18th century. Each door was carved by hand carved and measures 20 inches wide by 83.25 inches high and 2.25 inches thick. Of the four doors two have bats carved into them, one has clouds and the other with peach blossoms. Superb carving detail. The condition of all the doors is quite good with a smaill repair on the side of one door. These doors where most probably stained with a colored wash at one time. Just in from an important Newport RI estate.

The image itself, measures 19 and one half inches tall and is 15 inches wide.Manuel Robbe (1872-1936) (Born in Paris on December 16, 1872, he was descended from a northern French family from the town of Berthune. He studied painting and etching, and soon became an accomplished engraver, specializing in the medium of aquatint. He exhibited regularly at the Salons of the Societe des Artistes Fransais. Edmond Sagot, one of the most significant publishers of prints at the turn of the 20th century, was a great admirer of Manuel Robbe, and regularly published color prints by him.)
