Pr Gilded sphinx figures in carved wood frame c1780 Item 4655
Pair of gilded carved wood sphinx figures in carved wood frames designed as laurel wreaths
also in original gold leaf
c1800-1810. The figures are mounted on the original moss green silk velvet. This pair of French sphinx carvings were created at the time of Napoleon Bonaparte's Egyptian campaign of 1798 to 1801. The campaign was rather disappointing
but its decorative impact was huge. Each hand carved wood frame measures 30 inches wide by 22 inches high and three inches thick. The sphinxes each measure 8 by 11 inches.

. Period 18th century room from North Kingstown RI c1760 to 1780. This room was painstakingly scraped by hand down to its original robins egg blue color paint. It measures 16 feet by 16 feet square and approximately 8 foot 6 inches high and is 99% complete.The height could be adjusted one way or the other with some thought.The house was moved and this room has been in storage for over 25 years. It was without a doubt made by an important Newport Rhode Island cabinetmaker. Consists of doors

This fantastic "Refectory table" measures 87 inches long

inches wide and 31 inches high. The fluted columns end in a well worn trestle base and stretcher. Wooden pined top and base. The rich color and warm patina of this table are just perfect. This table dates from the 18th century. This antique English furniture refractory table would make the perfect sofa table or intimate dining table. It was purchased in England over 40 years ago.

Antique Swedish Alder root breakfast table C1820 Item 3621
Period Antique Swedish Alder root breakfast table c1820 (2nd wood Nordic pine). This wonderful and very rare table top measures 34 and one half inches by 35 inches and is 29 and one quarter inches high. When the table is tilted up it measures 48 inches high. All original except the enhanced hand rubbed finish. Tables made from Alder Roots are impossible to find. The Alder root takes forever to grow to a size that can be cut into many small pieces and put on Nordic Pine underwood.
